Strategic Wound Care is a small business with a large entrepreneurial mindset.
Strategic Wound Care is inspired by the desire to meet the needs of patients in a specific niche in the medical industry that has previously been underserved by the physician sector.
We seek to develop stronger continuity of care for patients by partnering with cooperative agencies along the medical continuum to increase communication among healthcare facilities, as well as improve standardization of care in wound care.
This is done:
- By maintaining strong relationships with many healthcare agencies and facilities along the medical-care continuum.
- Through frequent monitoring of specified patients, intervention as necessary, and appropriate referrals as needed.
- Through physician-provided nurse and allied medical education, as well as frequent communication between staff and physician.
To accomplish the primary objectives, Strategic Wound Care has relationships with specific healthcare facilities (Skilled Nursing Facilities, Long Term Acute Care Facilities, Home Health Agencies, Wound Care Clinics, and Acute Care Hospitals) to provide wound care services. As Strategic Wound Care works with many facilities, patients can receive the same treatment for their wounds because they are being continuously followed by the same healthcare providers at Strategic Wound Care. Furthermore, the wound care nurses in these facilities not only follow the same wound care treatment procedures, in many cases, they have been trained by Dr. Thomas personally.
Strategic Wound Care can provide continuity of care for patients as they progress through the health care system. In addition, this continuity helps to develop cooperative efforts among the health care facilities, as they are able to increase communication with each other due to the cooperative objectives of meeting the health care needs of any specific patient. The result has largely been exceptional on many levels. Most significantly, patient outcome has improved with continuity of care. In some cases, cooperative services and communication, even from competing agencies, have improved.
